Health coaching

Ask not what your doctor can do for you; ask what you can do with your doctor -Dr. Vicki

Imagine your ideal partnership with the doctor of your dreams.

What would that look like? How would you and your doctor work together? How would you feel being cared for and cared about by this person? Health coaching is a process that moves you closer to this ideal. And in the process you clarify and move closer to your health goals.

You often go to the doctor seeking answers. The beginning step is asking the right questions.

Dr. Vicki can guide you to the right questions, then point you in the direction of answers. She will help you identify health goals. She will help you asses where you are now by listening to you and interpreting your medical records. She will help you prepare for your doctor appointments and formulate the written questions you bring with you. She will help you sort through your options when it comes to making those tough medical choices.

Dr. Vicki will not be your doctor. She will not diagnose you, perform a physical examination, prescribe medication or manage your medical care. She will use her skills and experience as a physician and surgeon to help you work with your health care team to arrive at the correct diagnosis and get the best care possible.

This is a new kind of service that is not covered by health care insurance. And it may be the best investment you ever made. The cost of sub-optimal medical care is not just measured in dollars, which alone can be staggering. Your ability to be freed from suffering is on the line. Your very life is on the line. The tragic truth is that preventable medical errors claim the lives of over 1000,000 hospitalized patients each year, making medical mistakes the eighth leading cause of death in the US. There are simple things that you can do to get not just safe, good medical care, but great medical care.
